Ability Radio is your first media choice for enduring, accurate information regarding disabilities in Nova Scotia and Canada.

The development of AbilityRadio.ca, an online streaming radio station,  comes at a time when the provision of accurate information regarding disability and government policy has become a rare commodity. It is our intention to watch, inform and commit to the well being of Nova Scotians with disabilities by breaking down the wall of misinformation and spreading truth on the web. 

Ability Radio will, to the best of our ability, represent for those who cannot do so for themselves. We intend to act as an active proponent to all things "disability".  In short, we plan to advocate, inform and push public opinion to a position of understanding and concern for the welfare of the disabled. 

What is a Consumer/Survivor?
A consumer/survivor is an individual who has experienced a disability and has learned to live beyond that disability through existing methods including drug therapy, physical activity, mental health treatments (like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT), and the discovery of people and communities who embrace differences rather than judge.  Empowerment of the individual to take part in their own path to wellness is a large part of what AbilityRadio.ca is all about.
